About Rocky Mountain Movement Disorders Center

The center includes a research center for Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders and an HDSA Center of Excellence.  We are one of the largest centers for movement disorders clinical trials in the United States with current or recent trials of new agents for Parkinson’s disease, PSP, essential tremor, dystonia, DLB, and Huntington’s disease.  Founded over 10 years ago the Rocky Mountain Movement Disorders Clinic is large enough to be firmly rooted and established while being small enough to allow critical thought to prevail over bureaucracy. We have a large and well-established referral base of primary care physicians, general neurologists, and other specialists, and receive referrals from throughout Colorado and the surrounding states.  We are focused on Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and other movement disorders. You will work directly with Dr. Kumar who has 20 years of clinical research experience and is a recognized leader in the field.  While we have a big impact, you will be part of a small non-corporate setting with 25+ other team members.  We are located on the campus of Swedish Medical Center, in Englewood, Colorado.  Extensive collaboration with neurosurgery, neuroradiology, physiatry, and neuropsychology is part of our daily practice.  We have established a new community-based non-profit organization  (Movement Disorders Foundation) with the goal to promote research and educational programs for individuals in Colorado as a successor to our long-standing relationship with the Colorado Neurological Institute.  The Foundation has a a substantial endowment and collaboration with this newly established organization will provide additional opportunities for philanthropic giving by patients and other individuals in our community and for funding independent research projects.
